Conference

In more than 35 years of research and teaching, Steve Ross has made an enormous impact on the field of finance and on the lives of many of his students.  During this time, he has mentored more than 60 students at Penn, Yale and MIT.  The Founding Conference for the Foundation for the Advancement of Research in Financial Economics celebrated Steve as a mentor by gathering together many of those he has impacted in this way.  The event took place at Endicott House in Dedham, MA, starting Friday, October 12, 2007 at 6:00 pm and ending after dinner on Saturday, October 13, 2007.  The academic portion of the conference included paper presentations and panel discussions throughout the day of Saturday, October 13 (conference program and list of participants).

Commemorative Volume:

Associated with the founding conference, a volume of works was edited by Mark Grinblatt and published by McGraw-Hill. Students whose careers and thinking were particularly influenced by Steve Ross have chosen to dedicate a prominently published article of their own to his mentorship.  In addition to the reprinted articles, each student has written a short piece about their experience with Steve Ross as a mentor.  McGraw-Hill has generously offered to supply complimentary copies of the volume to all who request it.
